Task 1. of the Worlds
Today we had very good and fast task. Many people in goal and everybody is happy. At the briefing task was set 74,5 km long. Take off Penon and starting cilinder 2km around turnpoint infront of take off. We had lounch order by WPRS ranking and the time before window open to start was hour and a qurter so everybody had chance to make the best starting position.
I lounched as 77th and fasly climbed above take off to the cloud base. Good thing was that we had clouds that the forecast did not predict. Cloudbases were at 3200 - 3300m and thermals strong but not turbulent. At start time everybody was close to cilinder and to cloudbases. We were all above Crazy thermaling and avoiding to be sucked in the cloud. When the start opened every body went to first turnpoint Divisadero at the end of the second ridge to the west. Height to cross to Maguey was enough at Crazy. Me and Urban took a line more south and made a better glide across. When we were across group climbed at Maguey and cought us and even flew more in front. I pushed speed on the ridge in search of good thermal. I noticed a cumuli in front of turnpoint and realized that the thermal comes from the hole in ridge. I went away from the ridge and saw that about 30 pilots are folowing me. We found climb more than 5ms and we were fast at cloud base. Some pilots allready turned turnpoint but were lower so we glided and on speed we cought firstones. Here we all climbed again to cludbase and went to the south for 10km far turnpoint. Here the group splitted in two. Ones pushed the bar and one with me took it easy and we climbed every thermal we find useful. First ones got very low and we came above most of them .Some of the first ones got f... good climb and were again with us. After that group again splitted in two and one went to thre kings and me and others straight to Espina. The ones at three kings did not make it good. We on the way to Espina climbed 4-5ms thermal and again at ridge climbed 7ms and we were again at clud base in seconds. We flew across Crazy and got extra altitude on the road to turnpoint in the back side of take off about 10 k from Crazy. Sky closed by big cumuli clouds and we removed foot from speeding too much. We were below big cumuli and was sucking suckers so I hato make spiral to be far from base. Now we were about 20 pilots in the first group turning in the shade to make turnpoint. Some had balls and went for the turnpoint and last turnpoint to make goal. We little stayed thermaling but we saw the first five that they had good line and we also went for it. Last turnpoint was Cerro gorrdo and the goal cilinder was La torre take off above Valle. I was with Aljaž, Siegel and Blondeau. Greg pushed hard to make good time and was easly in front of us. Three of us took it easy for the first day and we flew to goal at 58km/h not hurring too much. I ended up about 14th and very happy. Winner was Eric Reed from USA on Niviuk Icepeak3 i think. He was pushing all the way so he earned first place hard with time somewhere about 2hours. Me did it in 2:06. and it is my best result ever.

Malo smo se štedili na kraju jer smo mogli doći i sa boljim vremenom ali ziher je ziher za prvi dan. Jučer sam imao kravatu koju nisam mogao 20minuta otvoriti, a sve zbog rigid foila. Danas je istu stvar imao slovak a prekjučer neki amer. Sutra vadim rigid iz ušiju jer je preopasno dobiti takvo sranje nisko. Eh da danas smo morali paziti na baze jer na Icepeaku se nemogu uši napravit jer su spojene A i B linije na ušima.
jučer je bilo otvaranje i baš je bilo sve vrhunski. Cijeli grad je bio na nogama da nas pozdrave. Svi su izgledali strava, timovi u svojim majcama i zastavama. Mi smo bili onakvi kakvi smo mogli biti obzirom da smo si sve platili sami pa vam je onda sve jasno čak je i Moldavija izgledala super.
